Bloggin' since bin bloggin'

Are zines dead? maybe... or dying. Everyone talks about how the internet is killing Print. While that may be true, it might be helping some otherwise small publications that might only exist in quantities of a few dozen if they werent typing their words onto a blog instead.
You can almost bet that every snowboard town has at least 1 person blogging about what is going on around them. It's like the local news for snowboarding, and it can be opinionated as all hell if it wants to be. Along with the usual stuff you see on the magazine blogs, you get a little insight into some local happenings and home town heros that are doing it to do it.


In celebration of 'doin it to do it', we're going to send 'em a little internet traffic love when we come across them.

Snowboarder Mag video contest

The guys over at Snowboarder Mag have a wicked contest going on... and it's interactive, so go check it out.

They invited all the different crews that are there usually filming to create a Super Park edit, and now they're facing them off head to head in a bracket style competition. 2 videos are posted every sunday and YOU VOTE for the winner. You can vote once a day for the entire week. This is happening every Sunday until there is a winner. Check out the standings so far HERE.

This Sunday (June 19th) it's Think Thank's turn with their super park video creation, "2 more skip the last".
There's a few dino's in there, so GO CHECK IT OUT starting Sunday and vote for the one you like most... then go back the next day and do it again.

trip to idaho day 2

CDI Memorial!!!
the big day. unfortunately the location had to be changed at the last minute which meant that there wouldnt be a Q-pipe this season, but everyone was there to have a good time regardless. i came to find out that if you let a bunch of kids out on a patch of snow they WILL make it happen. logs were pulled out of the woods for sliding on, banks were pushed up in the trees to snake run down, and basically the snowboarders in Idaho do it right!


Corey Mcdonald flips through the CDI Memorial sign in book. they've been signing up in that book for the past 8 years, and it's chalked full of photos, drawings, and tons of memories.

R.I.P. Zak

The Alaskan snowboard community suffered a huge loss this past weekend with the untimely passing of Zak Kaercher of Zak's Boardroom. Zak was a positive influence on both the snowboard and skateboard scene in Anchorage, actively helping to build and maintain the sports that he loved as much as the rest of us.
To say he will be greatly missed is an understatement. Thank you Zak.


Our thoughts are with his Family and Friends.
