Big Mike… aka @Zeach_man!  At this point, if you pay attention to this feed he needs no introduction.  We caught up with him after his art show last Friday to see how it went and ask him a few questions your obviously dying to know.  So without further adieu… Photo: @ColeTaco DWD - Yo Big!  How did the show go on Friday? BM - The show kicked ass!  Sold a lot of art work. DWD - Do you have any favorite pieces that you sold? BM - My new favorite piece would have to be the “Seeing Friendship”. I’ve made three of them now, and sold all three at the show.  People seem to like them, so I’ll keep making them. DWD - Who's making up the Zeach family these days? BM - Its just Zeachman and his alter ego Breachman living in Board World. DWD - Your alter ego has an alter ego?! Damn.  Incase the people don’t know… which boards have you done in the DWD line over the years? BM - I created the maeT with Zeachman on it for the 2012/13 season.  Then the Bogart ‘Brass Monkey’ board in 2013/14 (#BigBurgandy) and this season is the Cheshire 2015/16 on the Bogart board again.  And we just wrapped up 2016/17 artwork and now are starting the conceptual idea for 2017/18! DWD - We keep tagging #NeverNotGrabbingTail on posts with the new Bogart board… what does it mean? BM - The base has a tail painted around the edge of the whole board so when ever you’re grabbing you’re grabbing tail! DWD - Helpin’ the homies with short arms get that tail grab they always dreamed of!  How does art and snowboarding blend in your life?  Do you do one to break from the other, or are they each necessary in your creative process? BM - They are two necessities to living a happy life for me. DWD - For the homies that weren’t in SLC on Friday, how can get some of your art?  Do yo have any other shows coming up? BM - At the movement they can hit me up for art on Instagram or email.  I'm in the process of getting them up on the internet.  Not sure when my next art show will be, but hopefully sooner then later.

Some more inspiration for your #DWDxUSO drawing contest entry!  @JesseRobinsonWilliams has been quietly blowing your minds with the Kwon graphics for years!  Read how he got his start and how he blends his art with snowboarding. DWD - Let's start with telling 'em which DWD graphics you've done and do you have a favourite out of those? JRW - I’ve done the graphics for the past 4 Kwon boards, the Brat from 14/15 as well as 2 boards for 16/17 season... My Favourite graphic is probably the VW van from 2013, but they've all been a lot of fun to work on. DWD - I think people might be surprised to know that one person did all of those.  They're all pretty different from each other.  Do you have a medium or style that you prefer to work in? JRW - Yeah, The art styles have definitely changed from season to season. The first 2 Kwon boards I worked on had pretty humorous graphics... things started to get a bit darker going into the 3rd board. A lot of the graphic design direction for those boards comes from Jeff, I try my best to match the artwork to his vision each year. DWD - Which came first... the brush/pencil or the board? JRW - I’ve been drawing and painting my whole life, but I think being on the board really helped me focus all that random creativity into something that I could directly relate to. DWD - Was there anything or anyone particular that got you in to each?  and at what point were you able to combine the two? JRW - My parents were super supportive of my random doodles and messy paintings when I was young, I think that helped me to pursue art into my teens. I started snowboarding up Mt. Seymour when I was 13. working at a few different snowboard shops through high school allowed me to make some connections with sales reps and other artists that were contributing to the local snowboard scene. It wasn't until I was in my 2nd year of art school that the two worlds really combined and I was able to apply my art to real products. Shortly after that I started working with you guys :) DWD - Where can people find more of you work? JRW - My website has been "under construction" for years... www.jessewilliams.ca Check @jesserobinsonwilliams for more
